Life in Lockdown -1

In these trying times a thought comes to mind – Is this what the apocalypse looks like?
Whenever we thought of an apocalypse, we pictured it as a zombie apocalypse or a natural disaster or a very different sort of society with no democracy. This was the Hollywood version of an apocalypse.

Never in a million years did we think that an invisible enemy could bring an apocalypse like situation, capable of bringing the entire human population to its knees – dividing our lives into a Before and After version.

Before, we were free, independent … normal and now the Before version of our lives feels like a dream. Everything is changing and it’s changing too fast. One day we had a normal day and the next morning our lives changed completely. The worst part is, the transition period isn’t over yet. It’s still evolving, changing every day. The more time goes in this period the more life is going to change and will remain that way for a long time.

Maybe this virus is nature’s idea of revenge – apparently natural disasters weren’t enough to damper our spirit. Humans have always bounced back with more vengeance than before, becoming more and more cruel to everything around us. So maybe this virus was a fitting way to teach us a lesson.
Now, the tables have turned, the warden has become the prisoner.

We imprisoned, plundered, exploited, destroyed everything. Now we are reaping what we sowed and the fruit is …grim. We thought we were invincible, well clearly we are not invincible. We are weak but we will be okay because we are fighters.

There is always a sliver of hope and in times like this there is no time to panic, this is a time to keep calm and work wisely. What is going to happen is going to happen there is no prolonging the inevitable.
So it’s better to accept, adjust and keep out of its way by safely staying home.
